Overview & Asset Location
The Cervantes deposit sits below the operating Scuddles underground mine, with the top of the Cervantes orebody approximately 210 metres below the current level of decline development at Scuddles (at 31 March 2023).
The operating Scuddles underground mine is situated wholly within 29Metals’ existing mining tenure at Golden Grove, with the Scuddles underground mine and hoisting infrastructure located adjacent to the Golden Grove processing facilities.
View historyIn November 2022, 29Metals completed a PFS evaluating the potential development of Cervantes to extend the operating life of the Scuddles underground mine. The PFS followed the commencement of underground drilling in 2013, along with an initial mining concept study and extensive drilling programs during 2019 – 2022.
29Metals is now focussed on:
- further Mineral Resource extension and conversion drilling to focus on further converting material currently in the inferred and indicated categories to additional indicated and also measured categories for Cervantes which is expected to support reporting of a production target and associated project economics;
- evaluating whole-of-site value opportunities, including timing for integrating Cervantes into the Golden Grove mine plan and milling rates; and
- evaluating Sustainability & ESG risks and opportunities, to identify and prioritise opportunities to enhance performance.
